[An immediate rush of warmth, bright as the light that had seared away the clawing revenant's hands, as the sun outside the crypt when Glinda had emerged, grimy and cobwebbed and triumphant.]
hello to you too, mister waterdeep!! 🥰😘👋😄 me and mine are just splendocious, thank you ever so for asking~ i hope likewise for you and all those you hold dear, of course. you aren't greatly fatigued by our adventure, are you?
ah, well. it's much the same as it was before, which is to say: not very impressive, i'm afraid. 😞😮💨😢🫤
[And it's oddly...not that upsetting, confessing this. Not to Gale.]
WELL, i don't mind saying that i'm ever so grateful, mister gale, for all you've done to help me out, so please please please tell me right away if you or your nice young man with the lovely pretty hair and the frilly little shirts need anything, okay? anything at all, i'm here to assist! ☺️🤗👍😘
well, you see, it's very embarrassing, really. i'd made it all the way to shiz, a university renowned for teaching magic, to pursue my heart's desire of becoming a sorceress. but i found it all much much more confusifying than i anticipated. in plain terms, i was not a very good magic student -- though not for lack of trying, i assure you! an UPland gets UP with the sun and SEIZES the day!!
Of course, Glinda. I’ll have to introduce you to him at the first opportunity. Perhaps at breakfast tomorrow? Astarion also joins me for it, and I think he’s rather grateful you brought me back from the crypts safely.
I certainly am.
[ because it was Glinda, in the end, who ensured he came home. he’ll not forget it. ]
Well, that’s not at all unusual. I hesitate to cast aspersions on your teachers, but if my time at Blackstaff Academy has taught me anything, it’s that not everyone learns in the same manner, nor at the same speed. You may simply not have met your match, in matters of teaching.
I’m no professor myself, but I’ve had the occasional apprentice, if you should like to continue your studies here.
why, i’d be absolutely delighted! there is absolutively nothing i love so much as a charming breakfast, and i certainly believe we are on our way back to that! 🥰💞💓💖
[She doesn’t quite know how to say it, but the optimism doesn’t ring as false as it otherwise might – there had been power in the way she’d lit up the crypt, seared flesh from bone, left the undead in shambles. And it had satisfied one deep, great, aching longing: she’d actually, truly helped someone, brought them back to their beloved in one piece. It everything Glinda had ever dreamed of being: someone good.
Also it was so desperately romantic, which helped a lot.
As does Gale’s next offer, so unexpected, so wonderful that Glinda audibly gasps.]
oh, would you? would you TRULY? i would be ever so grateful if you would allow me the pleasure, the PRIVILEGE of your time, even if only for a moment! in fact, gale – may i call you gale? – it is my HONOR to even be CONSIDERED for such a privilege!
@waterdeep
Has your magic returned to you, unchanged?

[ the losses will sting a little while longer, but astarion has assured him the resurrections will come, in time. ]
Ah, were you in something of a rough patch before?

And of course, Glinda. ☺️ I ought to have invited you to do so sooner. No need for such pleasantries between friends, is there?

Did you and your boyfriend make it through alright?
